He was born in Barcelona in 1977 and got his degree in cinematography by the ESCAC (Catalonia Cinema School). Since he finished his studies in 2000 he has focused his professional activities on cinematography, working in several productions such a documentaries, commercials, music videos, short films… His last feature film is María (y los demás) directed by Nely Reguera and starring Barbara Lennie.
In 2007 directed and filmed Aprop (Closer), an unusual black and white short film. Displaying a very sensual choreography he introduces the spectator in a world of the senses. It was released in about a hundred festivals throughout the world and earned several special mentions and over twenty awards.
The good reviews encouraged him to go on with similar projects. Short films such as Casual (2008), Fao (2009), Morir cada Día (2010, Dying everyday) and El Mur (2013, The Wall) followed Aprop success.
Echeverria lives in Barcelona and is currently working on a documentary: Animal turistA and writing the script for a full-length movie: Elephant.
